Horizon Bank Announces Robert Avery as Regional President – Central Indiana Region

Michigan City, Indiana – Lynn Kerber, Horizon Bank’s Executive Vice President, and Chief Commercial Banking Officer, is pleased to announce Robert Avery has been named successor to Dan Hampton as Regional President – Central Indiana Region.

Avery joined Horizon Bank in 2020 as a Senior Commercial Lender– bringing over 26 years of banking experience including numerous leadership roles in Retail, Small Business, Residential, and Commercial banking.

Amidst the Covid-19 Pandemic, he was called upon to serve as a member of Horizon’s Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) management team. Transitioning from this pivotal role, in 2021, he assumed the position of SBA Program Manager, tasked with overseeing the Bank’s Small Business Administration Lending programs. Building upon his expertise, in 2022, Rob was appointed Market President – Central Indiana, marking a significant progression in his career at Horizon.

Kerber stated “We have every confidence that Rob’s experience in Commercial Banking, his enthusiasm, and his collaborative leadership style will have a positive impact for the Central Indiana Region and as a member of the Commercial Lending management team.”

Effective April 1st, Avery will assume the role of Regional President, formerly held by Dan Hampton. Hampton will retire in July until which time he will support Avery in a planned transition.
