Craig Dwight Named One of IBJ Media’s Most Influential People
Laporte, Indiana, July, 24 2023 — IBJ Media has named Craig Dwight, Chairman, Horizon Bancorp, Inc. & Horizon Bank to the 2023 class of Indiana 250, a list of the most influential and impactful business and community leaders in Indiana. Dwight was included in the Financial & Business Services category for his work and dedication to community.
Executives and leaders at IBJ Media and its three news brands — Indianapolis Business Journal, Inside INdiana Business and Indiana Lawyer – compiled the list after a months-long process that involved reviewing nominations, researching Indiana organizations and interviewing community leaders across the state.
“It is an honor to be recognized once again as one of IBJ Media’s most influential business leaders in Indiana. Throughout my years at Horizon Bank, It has been my privilege to live, work and contribute to my local communities. I’d also like to congratulate the team of talented advisors at Horizon Bank. The names were released July 20 to all IBJ Media subscribers and are housed at Indiana250.com. Honorees were also profiled in the Indiana 250 magazine inserted in Indianapolis Business Journal. Dwight was profiled on page 50.
“Our 2023 Indiana 250 list is chock full of private- and public-sector leaders who are making big impacts in their communities, in our state and even in our nation,” said IBJ Media CEO Nate Feltman. “We chose these leaders because they are doing inspiring work, and we want to share their stories so others can be inspired, too.”
IBJ Media launched the Indiana 250 program last year, with plans to update it annually. Feltman said developing this year’s list was even more difficult than putting together the inaugural Indiana 250 last year.
“There are so many talented, generous people in the state who are making a difference that narrowing the list to 250 is hard,” Feltman said. “But we think that makes it special. We truly believe the people on this list are worthy of the honor.”
Dwight has been inducted into the Times of Northwest Indiana Business and Industry Hall of Fame, received a lifetime achievement award from Michigan City Economic Development, and was honored with a Banking Excellence Award from the Indiana Bankers Association. Under his leadership, Horizon Bank was named on American Banker’s Best Banks to Work For list in both 2021 and 2022. And, most recently he was awarded the prestigious Sagamore of the Wabash Award for his civic leadership and significant contributions to his community.
Dwight and others in the inaugural Indiana 250 list were celebrated at a reception featuring Indiana Secretary of Commerce Bradley Chambers on July 20 on the 48th floor of the Salesforce Tower in downtown Indianapolis.
IBJ Media’s annual Indiana 250 is part of the company’s larger effort to help foster statewide economic vitality and collaboration through its publications and events, including an Engage Indiana series of programs it is co-hosting with the
