Horizon Bank Awards $10,000 Grant to Lacasa, Inc.
Michigan City, Indiana - Horizon Bank is pleased to announce the recent grant to Lacasa, Inc. of Elkhart and Goshen Indiana in the amount of $10,000 through the Horizon Cares Charitable Grant Program.
Lacasa is a nonprofit housing agency, with programs to help clients achieve financial stability. From becoming a homeowner to improving credit scores; from finding an affordable rental to receiving home repair assistance. Lacasa believes that everyone deserves a strong foundation.
The grant will help fund Lacasa’s Financial Empowerment Center, which provides adults with knowledge and tools to turn personal finances into a mechanism for family stability. David Eifler, Market President of Berrien County Michigan and North Central Indiana said of the grant, “It is a privilege to support Lacasa, as they are a pivotal organization in the community and create continuous opportunities for those who reside in Goshen and Elkhart.”
The organization offers several classes, including the Master It series which allows participants to focus on their credit, debt, and overall money management. In addition, Lacasa offers the DreamSavers Program which allows participants to receive up to $4,500 in matching funds towards the purchase of an asset. Lacasa offers classes at no cost, that are available in English and Spanish, and provided both virtually and in-person.
