Horizon Promotes Kathi Tilling to Diversity and Inclusion Officer
Michigan City, Indiana – Horizon is pleased to announce Kathi Tilling as their new Diversity and Inclusion Officer. This recently created position reflects Horizon’s deep commitment to fostering, cultivating and preserving a culture of diversity and inclusion for all Horizon Advisors, customers, vendors and the communities they serve.
Tilling joined Horizon in 2014 with 14 years of extensive experience in human resources, seven of those years in an organization serving individuals with disabilities. She has a comprehensive background in all aspects of Human Resources including recruiting, employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits.
“I believe companies with inclusive and diverse cultures are better positioned to grow and thrive,” says Jim Neff, President and member of Horizon’s Diversity Business Council. “Kathi’s experience and leadership will help us continue to enhance our efforts to recruit, develop and retain diverse talent,” continued Neff.
Tilling has been integral to the success of Horizon's Affirmative Action plan. In 2018, she led Horizon Bank in surpassing its Affirmative Action goals that increased the number of minorities, veterans, and individuals with disabilities that Horizon has hired.
“Cultivating a purpose-driven and inclusive culture where diversity is valued and fostered is one of Horizon’s core values,” says Tilling. “We believe a diverse workforce enables us to drive innovation, deliver on our promises of providing exceptional service and sensible advice to our customers, and continue to make a positive impact in the communities we serve.”
She has been active member of Horizon’ Diversity Business Council since 2017 and is also involved with many local organizations who serve diverse populations to continue to expand diversity in the bank's workforce and advocates for inclusive
practices in the workplace.
